I enjoyed this. Kind of obvious where it would ultimately go, but heartwarming.

This book was SLOW to start. Very ‘pick up and put down’able. It picked up after the last two thirds, and I guess was an attempt at showing the murky path through grief. I enjoyed the offbeat way Oliver grew into himself, but I did find this book to be a tad predictable. A lot was spelt out for you, and we were clearly lead down a path.

Wouldn’t recommend (I’d be scared my friends would dnf) and I don’t think I’d reread this again.

A lovely, simple, funny read. I got this as a free book on Amazon’s first reads for Prime. It’s one of the few of those I have actually read and I really enjoyed it! The main character was lovable, showed a lot of growth, and funny (often without trying to be). Definitely recommend as an easy read!

I had high hopes for this one. It took too long to get good. The ending is so sweet though.

This was quirky and had a similar vibe to Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. If you go into it expecting that, it’s a good read!

Wow, what a cutesy, depressing, romantic, thought provoking story. Have you ever thought of what a candle made of your scents might smell like? Would you have it done? This book brought about a very interesting conversation between my wife and I. Do you snack while you read? You will start if you choose this book. Do you need what ultimately is a very feel good story even though it takes a wild twisty road to get there? Read this, it will make you happy, angry, sad, hungry, and at times think what the hell am I reading. Enjoy!!

This was a very cute book that I normally wouldn’t read. I’m usually more into thrillers that make you want to keep reading and see what happens next. (something about murder and scandals...lol) I found myself taking long breaks in between each reading because the book was slow moving. I read the book on the Kindle app and noticed that not much is happening and I was already 70% done with the book.?!

Although, I really loved how much I can relate to the main character Oliver. He has a lot of OCD. He has a lot of organization and doesn’t like to step out of his comfort zone. He always needs to have a plan and worries about everything just like myself. I really liked the idea of him being a funeral home director as well because I’ve always been infatuated with the idea of working in a funeral home or being a mortician.

Overall, this book was a nice change but just hard for me to get through.

I was a bit impatient through his whole journey of self discovery and realizations.
It’s a well written book and a decent story, it just didn’t have enough to hook me in or keep me emotionally invested.
