I don’t think I’ll read the rest of this series. It’s hard to track down, and not entirely worth the effort. It was fun to revisit the characters of BTVS, but this had a lot of weird grammar issues and missing words, which made reading it difficult and confusing.

I would have given this a higher rating, but a few of the arcs are just thrown at you with little to no explanation as to how they happened. All of a sudden, Dawn's a giant. And Buffy lives in Scotland.

Surprisingly entertaining and marked with the classic Whedon style, I really enjoyed the first part of Buffy season 8. Except the Dawn plot. She's a giant? wtf? But asides from that, so far so good. Now on to read volume 2. :)

I am a HUGE Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. I was very excited when I found out that Joss Whedon was continuing the story. I'm a little disappointed. I'll try the next volume and try and get over my prejudices.

This comic/graphic novel was so much fun to read, especially after I finished the television series. The Season 7 Finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer had me in tears and feeling literally every emotion possible. Therefore, I was very eager to read this comic and see where the story took me. I hope that Georges Jeanty is at Dragoncon again this year because I would love to have him sign this book. His art work is amazing! Also, this is Joss's writing at its best! I definitely saw his wit come through, along with his ability to bring a story to full circle and write a powerful ending. It reminded me a lot of Lessons, Season 7 Episode 1, in that regard. If you love the Buffy narrative, then I definitely recommend this book! I look forward to the next volumes.

I’m not typically a graphic novel reader, so maybe I’m harsh, but the story felt disjointed and all over the place. The art on the cover was way better than within the story. Buffy didn’t really match the show in her speech and everything was a bit rushed. Not impressed.

A re-read. Well it is a bunch of years later. And the new is definitely polished off Buffy. This is still pretty good. But it doesn't have the oomph of memory and commitment. The cast is still pretty good, the new cast has possibilities. The art is a little unevenly printed and it feels like an omnibus kind of problem. It is a bit of a struggle to remember who is who, and who made it into the very end of season 7. But it still basically works. 4 of 5.

The graphic novel series for Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the official season 8 of the series. As such it is planned and plotted and to some degree written by Joss Whedon. I've read the first 3 twice and I think its brilliant and fun and look forward to getting the rest from the library - I am hoping they reprint season 8 in omnibus form - because its even more compact then the graphic novel form - so for now I'm holding off buying. But otherwise it is certainly worth owning. Even if Buffy is just about as much of a whiner as Harry Potter ever was, I still like her. And Faith and Giles and Dawn and Xander remain. I miss Anya but her name-sake cat is wandering around the house. 4.5 of 5.

I loved the show and so wanted to love these. It was lacking and that's really the only way to describe it.
