so I didn’t particularly love or hate this book, and that was kind of the issue I had with it overall? I liked the premise, but everything kind of lacked the sparkle I had expected from the blurb and the “perfect for readers of Emily Henry” that accompanies it on the back cover. I also didn’t feel any specific attachment to the characters, which I think is due to the use of third person. anyway bottom line: liked, but did not love.

A really cute summer romance :) Yes, it isn't a literary masterpiece, but I had such a good time reading this. I loved the banter, the setting in the bookstore and especially the love interest. A more dramatic romantic ending would've been great, but hey, I'm also always here for the running after people on the airport trope. All in all, I definitely had a great time reading this book and I'm very glad I read it.
Will definitely recommend and lend it to my friends!
Seriously, leiht es euch aus besties!!
(no smut, unfortunately)

I knew from the start that I was going to love this book, a book about running a bookshop in an exotic location and having flights paid for and accommodation provided? Who wouldn’t want that as a job?!
I loved Clare and Jack transforming the shop from unloved and cluttered, to the community hub that it once was in previous years. The events that they put on, the way that they reorganised it all and the friendships that they developed over their 3 months in Bali were a pleasure to read about. I knew where their relationship was going to go, but didn’t realise that it wouldn’t be the twist in their story, and I adored what happened at the end. I actually didn’t want this book to end and would have loved to continue reading about Clare and Jack’s new adventure!
