Large text, gorgeous artwork. These Toronto based creators nailed it.

the art for this is really lovely, colourful and detailed. the rhyming is a little awkward at times but overall it's a sweet story of a boy getting a bindi from his mom. i'd recommend reading it in print format, i borrowed it as an ebook from my library and the app did a poor job of displaying the pages appropriately

This book has beautiful art. The inspiration of Hinduism (gods and traditional art) is ever present. Some spreads fall flat and don’t have much creativity behind them, but the ones that do show the artist’s potential fully.

The writing was flat. The rhymes didn’t work majority of the time and the rhythm of it fell apart multiple times.

I’m feeling the little inkling of trans joy in this children’s book. I wish it was tapped into a bit more. But it’s nice to see a supportive brown mother.

Overall, this book gives the aura that it was running on tight deadlines that didn’t give the artists time to fully shine.

Beautiful and fun to read aloud! There's also a free teacher's guide online to help teach more about the book. :D

Gorgeous illustrations and beautiful message. The rhyme scheme fell apart a few times, but overall well-written.

This picture book was so beautiful. The poem is really so so so beautiful and adorable along with the illustrations and art. I loved it. It's like a song. I read it thrice in one reading. It made me feel super calm and happy. Loved it!
