This was my first book by Tijan and I am so glad that I read it! I loved this concept of the girl in love with her stepbrother but ends up falling for his fraternity brother. Summer was a good little mixture of someone strong but often lacking self confidence. She stood up for herself though and that made her really exciting. Caden was quiet and intimidating but he was also the softie that helps someone in need. He started to develop a friendship with Summer and I just adored their journey to become lovers. And when they got together, they were just pure fire. Once they got together it was like Kevin who?

This book was very okay. I’ve read three books by this author now and they are always rated very high and in my recommended based on books I love. The other books have been okay but this is by far the worst. I just found the story hard to follow and none of the friendship or couples realistic. Most interactions were “you’re weird” and now we are friends. The character Avery is continuously described as a good friend, which I guess she is because she immediately decided the main character was her good friend at first sight? I feel like the love interests rarely spoke and then he was in love with her. I normally like when characters decided to separate to deal with their baggage, but they just broke up for a month and she lost some weight and then they got back together. I don’t think she really worked through anything. Colton was my favourite character and his commentary was the only thing I looked foreword too. Also nothing dug to deep, what’s up with summers parents marriage, what’s up with maggie, what’s going on with Claudia? I guess maybe I just didn’t get this book.

This book was so lame! I was expecting so much of it.
I skipped half the book it was so slow and the characters were so immature! And it was so predictable I just didn’t like it! I can’t even rate it!

Caden was gorgeous, and alpha, and thoughtful, and all the things I needed him to be! Summer was fun and strong but a little too awkward on occasion and had me cringing a couple times. I laughed out loud. I felt all the emotions and I LOVED Caden. Enjoyed the secondary characters as well... although if we get an Avery book I hope she has a little more backbone! Solid 4 stars for me!

The love story between Caden and Summer was so cute, but holy hell! Everything else so goddamn absurd like I was watching a circus act unravel. Summer being in love with her manwhore of a step-brother and her following him to college so they can be together?? Him leading her on and that making her second guess everything else in her life????? I mean, come on! REALLY? Not only that, but 60% through the book and all of a sudden family issues with a TWIN BROTHER that was never even remotely mentioned in the first half? Sheesh what a mess.

On the flipside, I loved Caden so much! He was really the only reason why I kept reading (Oh, and the obvious HEA). Gotta love the broody, mysterious bad boys. Summer was witty and funny too. I didn’t find her overly annoying.

Anyway, Wasn’t the best, but it kept me interested enough to finish.

Great story!

I really enjoyed this book, it was a really good read. It didn't have the spice I thought it would, but the plot was great, and so was the character development! I'd recommend it!

2 stars just because I was able to actually finish this audiobook.

This book was suppose to be about collage age kids, but it felt like it was writen by a teeneger for teenegers. This book felt like highschool drama and nothing else of substance. And let's not talk how cringy steamy scenes seem when they are writen in a laguege only teenegers would use. Maybe I'm wrong and college kids act and talk like mentioned in the book in USA, but it was nothing close to my uni years.

BTW, I'm not a strick book critige, so you know when I say something is bad, it probably really is.

This book is a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars. I liked this book better than the first book I read from this author. This is a book that definitely makes you want to read it in one sitting. Would recommend this for people looking for a quick summer read.

Better than I thought it would be. But Summer was pretty annoying. I'm not sure what Caden saw in her. The drama was so overblown and so over the the top.

I didn’t want this to consume me, but it did.
Stupid, stupid twist near the end, but I really enjoyed it.
