First Thought when Finished: The action in The Shadow of Mudflap was heart pumping and never ending! I totally approve!

Story Thoughts: The Shadow of Mudflap is a romping good ride with just a bit of nail-biting involved. There is a lot of action, intrigue, and just enough smexiness to make you forget that the characters seem to be under threat pretty much every step they take. I really enjoyed the mystery/thriller aspect of The Shadow of Mudflap. The story flowed quite well and I was on edge for most of it. While I figured out parts there were still one or two things that made me go "ohhhhhh" at the end. I LOVE THAT!

Character Thoughts: I loved Mudflap despite his unfortunate name. He had a sense of honor and loyalty that can make a girl swoon. He also acknowledged that his name was unusual but he made it work. Shanae took me awhile to warm up to (3/4 of the story). I think because she was a little too off-putting. Though once more of her back story was told and her sister came into the picture--I warmed to her. I did love what Mudflap brought out in her though so I liked them together.

Final Thoughts: The proceeds of The Shadow of Mudflap go to charity! While that is awesome, I would recommend this story based on the story alone. I think you would have a blast reading it!

Personal Note: Generally after reading Christi's stories I feel the need to call my family in Lubbock and check them LOL. I love when books are set in places that I know :)

Oh dear, I like Christi Snow (or at least I thought I did) but I hesitated over buying this because I hated the cover AND the title. But, I thought, what could be so bad?

First, I never got over loathing the hero's name - Mudflap? I mean really?

Second, I've got to say that this was neither a romance nor a suspense/thriller. Instead it seemed to miss both marks.

Shanae (yet another dreadful name) is supposed to be some legendary kick-ass undercover agent - they all have stupid fox names, don't even get me started on the juvenile nature of that storyline - yet we see her doing ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING! She might as well just be a medic for all her special skills we see.

Her ex is borderline stalking her (breaking into the home of a woman who broke up with you nine months ago is not ok!)but she forgives him because he cares - sheesh!

At the end of each chapter is a football score - why? Your guess is as good as mine because honestly we don't 'see' a single game.

I have no idea why Mudflap and Shanae (my teeth are grating just typing those names)fell in lurve as they don't appear to have spoken more than once or twice before they plaster their bodies all over each other as if they were magnetically attracted to one another.

Really disappointing

CHRISTI knows how to show off the SEXY and THRILLs of TEXAS and make them shine. She is well on her way to being THE writer for this niche of your bookcase. Her WHEN THE MISSION ENDS series well established what I expect. Strong women. Alpha men in Uniform with a sweet spot for strong women. Family and Friends come first. Sexy with a great storyline and build up. Action-packed thrills. THE SHADOW OF MUDFLAP delivers all of the above.

MUDFLAP is our hometown boy man with skills. I’m picturing something very Gerard Butler-esque. Someone Shanae can’t help but be drawn to, despite her 3-date-and-your-gone policy. I fell in love with their back-and-forth texting while he pursued and she tried to fight it. But there is nothing like an Alliance to Liberate Texas plot, to throw them together in all their awesome and glory. Will they survive each other, much less the bad guys?

I love my state. Texas is big and awesome. But we have some CRAZY. The Alliance to Liberate Texas will stop at nothing to see their goals achieved–succession. Even endangering all things sacred, Texas Football is a potential target. Unfortunately for them, they never anticipated the loyalty, fierceness, and fight of Lubbock, Texas. Where they may or may not agree with the CRAZY, they are UNITED when it comes to their own. Protecting their family, friends, and their FOOTBALL. CHRISTI doesn’t skimp on the ride or the thrills and definitely leaves us wanting more, more, more.

You can really tell that CHRISTI is writing about things she loves. You can tell that Lubbock, Texas Tech and first responders hold a special place in her heart. I know I’m highlighting CHRISTI SNOW, because her work is what I’m familiar with. But she co-wrote this with M. F. SMITH, a local Lubbock radio personality. You can read more about their process of working on the project together PLUS who CHRISTI pictured while writing on her website, link above.

The terrorist picked the wrong target…Texas Football.
