This one is by far the best of the trilogy. I was having a harder time getting through the first half of the book but once I hit the middle, I didn’t want to put the book down. I loved loved LOVED how it all ended. It was the perfect ending and I definitely thought about giving it 5 stars just because of the ending lol.

Brilliant. The Stakes are raised, and sacrifices are more than necessary if they want any chance of survival in The Rising. What a great book. I never thought The Darkness Rising trilogy had a love triangle, but they do. And Kelley Armstrong solves it fabulously. She hides it in the books with ignorance, and finally reveals it in The Rising. Like I said- the resolution is amazing in itself. I've really enjoyed this trilogy. I have read The Summoning, the first book in The Darkest Powers trilogy too, and I'm looking forward to continuing that. The Rising was genuinely brilliant. The ending was completely different and unique. Absolutely Stunning and Alluring.

This series is definitely the most lacking of the three I've read by Armstrong and the ending to this one? Well it's just the narrator telling us everything that happened. Too sweet, too wrapped up, too boring there at the end. A disappointment... because I think the story was way too big for the planned 3 books. AND it was constant running away, making for a big of a snooze fest.

um.. WHAT??? okay I never liked Rafe but WHAT???? I freaking love Daniel. He was sweet and funny and what the hell? Im sorry but their relationship has been brother/sister until this book. I do not understand where that came from. I am glad she didn't end up with Rafe because seriously I kinda hated him but Daniel was her brother. It felt forced.

I can't even talk about the rest of the book because I am so thrown off by the ending.

This is definitely the best in the trilogy. The characters get captured and from there it gets interesting. We also get a bit more depth from some of the characters, although they do feel mostly flat still. I lost track of who was who quite a few times, but that has been a common theme for me throughout this trilogy.

The plot does get repetitive. Escape, nearly get caught, escape again etc but it is an easy and quick read that doesn't require much emotional connection. If I'm honest I would have wanted more information on the powers of the other members of the group too.

If you want an easy read, maybe something to help you out of a slump without playing on your mind when not reading, this is the trilogy for that.
