Starting my Percy Jackson journey. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I love the whole storyline and background of this series.

4.5 STARS: Honestly, PJ surprised me positively - and I was super excited before starting, too! I never once lost my interest, what with the constant small plot twists and the amazing characters! And the end, that really come out of nowhere - whoever I was suspecting to be the one to betray Percy, it sure as heck was not Luke! I also liked how ADHD was not potrayed as ”bad”, but as an advantage for once. Even though sometimes I could guess what was going to happen beforehands, this usually only was the case right before the event, so I didn’t lose my focus even then. Overrall, a really good book, fit for all ages, I would say, and super excited to read the next ones!

This was EVERYTHING. I missed out on the Percy Jackson phase when the books were first popular because it was a little after my time as a middle schooler, but WOW am I happy that I decided to read these. My little brother absolutely loved them when he was in 5th grade and I remember seeing the movie (yikes) in theaters with him and my mom. Now, I know what you're thinking. The adaptations of the first two PJO books were not great, but I didn't read the books prior so I had nothing to compare them to. After reading this as an adult, I can fully understand why the film series was stopped after book 2.

Here's to hoping that Disney+ kills it with the TV series (also - here's to hoping they cast Logan Lerman as Poseidon and make all of my dreams come true).

All hail Rick Riordan for creating such an magical and fantastic world.

i would give this a 3.5/5 if i could. i really enjoyed it and i cant believe it took me till the age of 17 to read it for the first time. it was predictable at parts, but the plot was still interesting and fun to read. cant wait to read the other books too!
