Book two and already a big fan of the series - the writing is definitely telling HER story which happens to involve mysteries, instead of just episodic mysteries with some plot strung through. This one was deeply personal to the character and felt informed by modern information while staying true to the time period. Gripping, emotional, and while I did have a few guesses, I was still pleasantly surprised.

The story was a little repetitive got a little bogged down with secondary emotional concerns, but it was still pretty good. It didn't feel as much like a mystery book as the first in the series. This book felt more like a drama which just happened to have some mystery elements.
