Perfect for a post Hunger Games re-read reading slump. I read it in an afternoon and it was interesting enough to have me want to continue the story. But there's not nearly enough world building outside of the dang castle.

I loved it, but I was so confused how did the boy from the castle (if you have read the book, you know)got so close to the main charecter.

I really enjoyed this book. This is my second read of it and I was going to read it alongside a friend who is reading it in German however in the end I just sat and read the book as I was enjoying it too much to read at that pace.
I find this book fascinating in the sense that it discusses the wealth divide visible in the 21st century globally, the use of the caste system emphasises the lack of awareness that those at the top can have at time while also showing how hard it is for those at the bottom.
I love America’s character in this book, she shows compassion to her maid, something that is beautiful to see as often those lower down can be overlook and not taken care of properly even though they are often the ones putting in the most.
Overall really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to reread the next one

I had heard a lot of good things about this series, so I thought I'd check it out. I knew in advance that I would not be very interested in its plot, but when I started reading it, I was pleasantly surprised. The writing style was, in my opinion, good, and for at least the first half of the book, I could not stop reading. The plot, like I had guessed, didn't interest me much, mostly because it was very foreseeable.
I gave this book 3 stars simply because I liked the style. The plot, to me, was very boring and, as mentioned earlier, very foreseeable.

The Selection series and Anna and the French Kiss are always a simple comfort read. Just what I needed!

This book was much better than I expected it to be and I’m
absolutely not mad about it.

My girlfriend read this a while ago and told me to read it, too. I have to say that I might’ve had a few prejudices due to the cover and what I’ve heard about the series… but this had me HOOKED.
I enjoyed reading this and am honestly looking forward to the next book. I gotta say that I liked the protagonist, but she got a little unsympathetic towards the end of the book due to her indecisiveness and the way she handled things at one point of the story. She’s also kinda badass though. I like her attitude the way she doesn’t want to change for anyone.
While I’ve heard people think of Maxon as a rather one dimensional character, I really (really) liked him nonetheless.
I loved America and Maxon’s dynamic. They’re great together and I’m hoping to see more of that in the next book/s.

Despite some very interesting and sometimes questionable name choices, this was an entertaining read that had me invested at all times.

Here’s to America being more decisive in the next book (very hopefully)
