After reading the prequel novella for this Baxter Family Bakery series, I couldn't wait to get to know these Baxter brothers who are so close knit and take such good care of their sister! I was also looking forward to more delicious food! So I dove in with my high expectations and wouldn't you know it, I got a story even better than I had hoped for!!!

I have to say, Malachi is the brother I most wanted to get to know better. Seeing the small Arcadia Valley community through Malachi's eyes while he overcomes both average and uniquely deaf challenges is enlightening.

Ursula has taken hermit into the 21st century. I'm impressed and part of me is a little jealous of the amount of time she is able to spend in her home with only her cat to worry about.

All the bread, muffins, cookies, and gourmet food in this book make me so hungry! Oh, yummy! I can almost taste it! While this is the first novel of the Baxter Family Bakery series it's also the third book in Arcadia Valley Romance.

I requested the opportunity to read and review this title through the author. The opinions expressed are my own.

Elizabeth Maddrey is a new-to-me author, but after I read Ruth's story I knew I would enjoy more from the Baxter family bakery. Reading about someone who is deaf and trying to fit in with the world around him was really interesting. I identified with both Malachi and Ursula in different ways. Ursula seemed to have trouble keeping friends, even from a young age, and I was waiting for some sort of "big reveal" or for it to be explained in some way, and I was disappointed when it didn't.

I loved all the descriptions of the bakery goodies and treats, and I especially loved how kindhearted Malachi and his siblings were. They are a family worth getting to know!

Favorite of the series.

I found this book this morning and I could not put it down. Maybe because Malachi reminded me of husband. I loved it. And once I finished it, I promptly read the rest of the series. So good, but I like this the best!

I have been looking forward to reading about the Baxter brothers since meeting them in Ruth's story. I love baking, and my personal favorite is baking muffins. Some of the varieties mentioned in the story sounded amazing-- too bad there were no recipes in the back! This story focused on Malachi, Ruth's brother that mainly takes care of the business end of the bakery due to his being deaf. When he finds himself over his head designing the bakery's website, he hires a designer. He doesn't realize that it's the same woman he has developed a crush on as they have been playing online games together and chatting during their missions. This book dealt with themes of community/fellowship, literally loving your neighbors, and also loving yourself. A great way to pass some time. I'm tempted to skip to the next story about the Baxters but will read through the Arcadia Valley Romances in order so as to avoid spoilers.

I really enjoyed Muffins & Moonbeams. I loved that the hero was deaf because it gives me a perspective I don't get to see in my everyday life. I also loved that the hero and heroine were introverts. I will be reading the rest of the series.
