This books thesis was interesting but it was fairly outdated adn many of her predictions didn't come true. This made the book almost comical. Also some of ehr data seemed off. For instance data on Facebook as the main form of social media.

Lots of twisting of data to "prove" her assertions and put her stamp on the naming of this generation. Weak at best. Did not enjoy, but read it for work.

I read this book in a college sociology class and found it extremely disappointing. As a member of Gen Z it was difficult reading the opinions of a member of Gen X about how my generation is basically doomed. This book was written in the mid 2010s and i think that after political events and the pandemic, Gen Z has become more resilient and empowered and brave than we are described in this book, and i think that it is an inaccurate representation of young people today.

A bit repetitive, at times a tad depressing. But some good info. Only a very little that I would want to refer back to.

A pretty good book. Exploring today’s generation of young people. It does a good job of being fair and not just going for a “back in my day” mentality when dealing with today’s young people, as many a boomer and millennial love to do. The book acknowledges some flaws of today’s youths but also acknowledges some good that today’s youth being to the table.

3.5 Stars. Lots of interesting info, but it does get repetitive. The connection between depression/anxiety and social media use is one of the most interesting pieces.

Very intriguing and problematic but worth-thinking-about insights backed by data. Repetitive.
