The slow setup of these characters had me faltering at first. As the connections between the characters were revealed, my interest definitely grew.
Lexie is getting married - her hen party on Greek island, the last villa on the island draws the women.
Bella and Robyn - best friends with Lexie since school days.
Ana - Lexie's new bestie
Eleanor - the groom's sister
Fen - Bella's girl friend, aunt is the villa owner
A long weekend filled with lots of activity - and secret connections.
Though Lexie seems to be the main character - she really becomes the background as the plot moves forward.
Really enjoyed this book.

at this point, everyone should know that i struggle with large casts. (anything over 3 is a mission). this book has 6. luckily, everyone was well thought-out and had their own personalities, so that i had no problem telling them apart. (a real shocker. i’m impressed i didn’t struggle with it!)

while each character was so vastly different from the next, i found that the ones i loved in the beginning were insufferable by the midway point. it wasn’t until the very last chapter where they were somewhat likeable again. i’m not sure if that was the authors intention, as a way to make you doubt everyone, but i really hated it. i wanted to like everyone.

while this book is a thriller (i’m not sure how. there was nothing thrilling to it, except one chapter towards the end), i found that not a lot actually happened until the very end. the writing style (mostly the short chapters) made it a quick and easy read.

although not a lot really happened, i loved the ending. it was wholly unexpected. i do feel like things after the event were a bit too easy, as no one had any consequences for what happened.

overall, it was a quick read with a well rounded group of people. if you’re into “thrillers” set in a nice holiday location, i highly recommend this one for you.

this definitely took a while to get good but it was so worth the wait. i genuinely did not see any of that coming (but in a good way not in a bad way). one of the better thrillers ive ever read.

Lucy Clarke is fast becoming a new favourite author of mine! This book was a thriller masterpiece that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, it is expertly written with a tension-filled plot that never lets up.

We embark on a hen's trip with 6 girls, interconnected through the Bride, each carrying their own secrets along with them for the trip. Slowly but surely, the truth trickles out from each character, I loved the little teases of the secrets throughout the book, it keeps you on the edge of your seat, desperate for more information the entire way through.

The contrast between the seemingly idyllic setting of the remote Greece beach house and the dark secrets that the characters are hiding is what makes this book truly outstanding. The tension builds and builds until the explosive climax, leaving the reader reeling with shock and surprise.

Lucy Clarke's writing style is fast-paced, incredibly descriptive and engaging, making it seem like you are right there along with the characters, each of whom had their own unique story and secrets to uncover. The multiple points of view allows the reader to get to know each character intimately, making their journeys and the shocking twists all the more impactful, while the short chapters helped keep the tension ramped up and the pacing just perfect! The ending was such a twist that I never ever saw coming, I had multiple theories throughout the book but I loved the way it all played out.

This is a must-read for anyone who loves a good suspenseful thriller. Lucy Clarke has once again proven herself to be a master of this genre, and I can't wait to read more from her!
