I was new to the RH world when I read this and now I can’t turn back. If you want bully, MM, rh, academia spice then this is the book for you!! I’ve never wanted to love and hate a character as much as I did reading this!!

Go read this book!
I love a good bully romance. Add in Why Choose, step siblings and trauma… can’t ask for anything better.
Know your triggers before reading.

- FMC: Briar
- MMC's: Hunter, Ash, Ledger, Samson
- POVs Included: Multiple POVs (Briar, Hunter, Ash, Samson, Ledger)
-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)
Briar's mom gets married to a man across the country and they up and move. She's okay with that though because she's running from the nightmares of her past.
Her new stepbrother and his friends aren't thrilled with her arrival at first, though. But they all quickly fall for each other. Even though her other new friends warn her against them.
But things aren't HEA yet. Her past has come back to haunt her -- and possibly hurt her.

REVIEW:
This was meh.
I have read one other series by this author (Darkness) and I have a couple more on my TBR list. What drew me to her books is how she has m/m in her RH series'. I LOVE that! Unfortunately I don't love much else.
The Darkness series was better than this one is so far, though. It wasn't phenomenal, but better. This one looks like one of the first ones she wrote (publication-date-wise) and it is just very underdeveloped and amateur sounding.
The characters are flat and inconsistent. The relationships and chemistry between them is virtually non-existent. There's hardly a compelling plot at all (until the end when the man who raped her in the past shows up).
And the guys go from being "bullies" (and I use that term very loosely because they aren't bullies at all) to being head over heels for her with the flip of a switch. There's no transition period leading up to their change of heart, and it makes it all feel so superficial.
It's just not a very interesting book and no aspect of it is well-developed at all.
I don't HATE any of the characters, but they also don't feel very real to me. Characterization is huge when it comes to drawing in the reader. And these are just names on a page with hardly any personality.
Overall it's just not very good. Since it's only a duet (and the next book is short) I think I'll still finish it out. But I'm mainly staying for the mmf sex and not so much the story or anything else (which mostly sucks).

Great Beginning
I really enjoyed this book.
Amanda Richardson is a new to me author. This book was a fast burn with only a very little bit of bullying, which was refreshing. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good bully book but sometimes I need that change.
Briar shows the guys immediately that she won’t be intimidated by them.
The guys are all different in what they provide for her, feeling wise.
I definitely recommend this book

well, can't say i didn't enjoy it. i just felt like everything happened WAY too fast? she met them 10 days ago and suddenly they're acting like they're ready to take a bullet for her.
props to the author for mentioning therapy and for not healing briar's trauma with sex. she *ACTUALLY* got professional help to assist her in dealing with such strong trauma like someone who you're supposed to trust assaulting you.
i like the boys and i like that they're not actually bullies, just misunderstood kids. i wish we had more time with them and briar so their relationship could develop. if this book's timeline had happened in months or even a few weeks, i feel like we'd be able to enjoy more and connect to the characters more.
another bad point is that i've spotted a few misspelled words in this book, nothing too grotesque, but i think it shouldn't be there, considering it's a published book.
