I don't like telling spoilers in reviews but I feel like I need to provide examples of scenes to express how unrealistic it was written....
(SPOILERS) The shooter comes in and an auditorium of a hundred students just goes completely silent. When the doors open, not a single person panics or makes a run for it. Everything is controlled and there is little chaos. Police officers find students a couple blocks from the school and BRING THEM BACK. Like what?! (SPOILERS)
Reading the author's note, they state they grew up in a different country and we're unfamiliar with school shootings. They wrote the book in order to "learn about it". Clearly they should've done more research. Insulting to anyone that's been in proximity to violence like this and does not provide a realistic or fair view of school shootings at all.

However, I have several issues with this book that dropped the rating.
- Everyone I liked died. Hate when that happens and of course it has to happen here
- The flashbacks were too much and didn’t always add to the plot. Could’ve axed half of them and I wouldn’t have noticed.
- Autumn needed to shut up about being a dancer. Oh my god every time it was her POV she was pissing me off.
- The mention of
Sylv being raped by Tyler felt like a last minute trauma add on that wasn’t handled very well. - The actual logistics of the shooting weren’t the most realistic. Never would there be an assembly where 99% of a school would be in one room like that. Nope not happening in public schools, more kids would’ve skipped and there would be more staff around the building. And then the police part wasn’t the best either.
- Last thing, the romance part of this book was odd.
