An inspiring book, Is kind of outdated for 2023 on the communications parts maybe an updated version would be nice. I liked book references and tip sheets and some travel inspiring quotes for all the people who believe that life should not be the same for all of us living, there are many ways to live and being a Vagabonder is an interesting one.
Also learned more about the difference of being a tourist and a traveler, this book gave me the awareness to become a better traveler and stop being just a simple tourist expecting something in concrete for each place visited, much better to just simple being an expectant of every moment of life and enjoy it as it comes.

Reading this in 2024, I find the content to be a bit outdated.

I liked the spirit of this book, and appreciated the advice it gave on long term travel. It does make a great point about making travel happen and having a mindful attitude as it happens. It also gave a good number of resources for further reading and information.
My main beef was that I found the book quite dated, both in terms of humour and also attitudes to work and money. It very much felt like it was written from a perspective of someone who could simply quit their job and at one point, the author suggests that if someone is in debt, they just "get out of it". Which feels... Well... It comes from a particular perspective. The book also needed a good editor, it had too many quotes that didn't add anything, and the resource lists whilst useful were a bit long and indiscriminate.

A very good book about long-term traveling. About twenty percent of the links he lists in his tip sections are out of date (the copy I've read is from 2006.) But he has a current website that more than makes up for it.
His style is low-key, somewhat spiritual, and not overly sensationalist. I like it. Educational without being 'Look at ME!'
