Loved it just as much as book 1

I love the attention to detail with regard to baseball and well, everything really. Absolutely adorable love stories with characters you wish would never go away.

This was an enjoyable read and I really liked Jason when reading Sean and Mason's story so I was glad his story was next.

Although I wasn't really sure about Cam. As he seemed the complete opposite to Jason and I didn't think they would actually work as a couple. Yet they did and the story was well paced. But it was more of a sweet romantic read than a hot and heavy one.

However, that didn't make it any less enjoyable for me, and I will certainly be buying Drew's story when it is released later this year.

Curve Ball is book 2 in the Homeruns series. We met Jason in Wild Pitch and I fell in love with him! So, to say I was excited to hear that he was getting the next book is an understatement. I am totally addicted to these characters! They are funny, complex and sexy. Jason is sexy, funny and lonely. And, he's a catcher! He's been hiding not only his sexuality, but his heart. Jason lost the love of his life years ago and he can't seem to let Adam go. At a team party, Drew brings a friend, Cam. Once Jason set his eyes on Cam, he can't seem to stop thinking about him. Cam isn't manly or a ball player, but he's confident and proud to be who he is. Jason is drawn to Cam and Cam can't help but get a fast crush. Cam thinks Jason is straight, but needs friends since he's new in town. Jason wants Cam and decides he's done hiding. He wants to have fun and be with Cam, out in the open. Cam has tons of baggage, some that he thought he dealt with, but being with Jason brings some of his old memories and fears back. Will Jason admit his feelings before he loses Cam? Can Cam let his past go and trust Jason? Sloan knows how to write men with feelings and struggles while they are still stubborn and alpha. And, don't forget hot! I can't wait for the next one.

It felt good to have this simple connection with him. More than that, it felt right and that was the real head-trip for me.

He made me feel. He made me want.

"Oh honey, these women all realize I'm gay. They'd worry more if I wasn't losing my mind. Just look at that perfect butt," I motioned toward home plate. "It's like it was sculpted by Michelangelo with the sole purpose of worshipping it."

I was so happy to get this book, I just finished reading Wild Pitch, book 1 in the series, so I went straight into this one. I have to say I loved Jason, a man who despite fighting his own demons knew from the moment he saw Cam he would do what he had to just to know the man better. Being a gay man deep in the closet and a professional ball player, were two things Jason knew about himself. He also knew that once Cam was in his life, he would still be a gay man playing professional ball but he would not be in the closet any longer. Coming to terms with a lost love and broken heart Jason learns how to open his heart again to Cam, a gay man who is out and proud.
The growing love between these two was a great read and a wonderful journey to follow along with. Between Cam's sarcasm and Jason's ability to let the past go, along with their friends constantly helping their relationship move forward, this was a great book to read

ARC received for an honest review

It seems like forever since the first book in the Homeruns series , but it hasn't been. It has just been me impatiently waiting that has made it seem so much longer.

We got a tasty morsel of Curve Ball at the end of Wild Pitch, and I have been chomping at the bit for Curve Ball.

So while I loved Wild Pitch, I LOVE Curve Ball. I couldn't see how this series could get better, but it did!

Jason Klein and Cam Morgan could not have been more different. Jason, baseball star manly man. Cam is quieter, more effeminate, into fashion and cooking.

But boy do they complement each other!

From the minute they first met, you could feel the pull between them. Their emotions jumped of the pages I couldn't help but laugh, cry, love with them.

At times I wanted to slap Cam across the back of his head for being so damn stubborn, but as the story progressed I had more of an understanding of why he acted like he did.

And Jason - OMG the feels! His past still haunting him today, my heart ached as he struggled to move forward without feeling he was betraying his past.

What I loved about this story was that it was more that sex. Hello, I loved the sexy times, but this was more about Jason and Cam forging their new relationship and not just relying on sexual chemistry.

I adored that we got more of the characters from the first book - which you do not need to have read before reading Curve Ball, but why wouldn't you want to. Was great to see how Sean and Mason (book 1) are settling into their lives together.

Cam and Jason's story is a bit more gritty, a bit more angsty than Sean and Mason's - nothing over the top - and I really liked it!

The one person I was most intrigued by was Cam's roommate Drew. I am very much looking forward to reading his story in the next book.

Keep writing the m/m stories Ms Johnson - I really think it is your thing!

What a sizzling book. I read the first book of this series and fell in love with the characters. After reading this book, I am even more in love with this series. Cam annoyed me like crazy, with his bitchy diva attitude, but that just made him more endearing. Jason was not looking for love, but found he could not help but fall for everything that made up Cam. They had their ups, they had their downs, but got what they both deserved in the end. Each other. Was thrilled to read this book and am greatly anticipating reading Drew's story. How can you resist falling for these guys???

Another winning entry in the series!

Thoroughly enjoyed book two in the Homerun series. Jason and Cam are a fun couple and the emotional level was just right. I am annoying this series and the world that Sloan Johnson has created. The story arc is well timed, the character development is done well though a little more detail on the things that caused Cam's issues and what happened with Adam would have been good. Hated the cliffhanger ending but am assuming we'll get more info in the next book.

Once again editing needs to be improved. Grammar errors are one thing but getting a character's name wrong from one chapter to the next is just sloppiness. 4.5 stars.
