I've never read a graphic novel before - I've read this in pieces as it was released, but that's it - and I think I've been missing out! I really enjoyed this dive into Maxim's past. Maybe if I hadn't read the books, I wouldn't have loved this as much - as I completely adore the series - but it gets 5 stars from me!

I read a darker shade of magic, it's was pretty good. The world it worlds are interesting.
This is interesting, but I have no idea what's going on panel to panel. Im afriad there's little cohesiveness linking the panels which makes this difficult to follow. It does feel rushed. The art is pretty cool, if a little funky in places, but I feel I'm nitpicking there. I do love the style of it, the sharp edges and unsymmetrical clothes are a fun style. But I'm afraid the story aspect was the weakest link.
