A perfect blend of Greek myth and Celtic faerie folklore - The Cruel Prince meets A Touch of Darkness. I love the characters and the world and the simple but still exciting plot. This book is mostly Persephone discovering herself and falling in love with Hades, and it's sweet and beautiful. Forget scary, ruthless Lord of Night; this Hades is young, compassionate, and needs a million hugs. I love him more than anyone, or any other Hades I've read.

What an excellent story

I'm a sucker for a good Hades and Persephone retelling and this one was fantastic.

Of course, that seems to be the case with any Katherine Macdonald book.

Great Story

Read it in a day, consumed it. Fun little twists, almost wish the first book was longer but still great amount of story. Wasn’t expecting the ending and can’t wait to read the second one. Slightly slow burn on the romance, worth waiting for.

Over halfway through the book and it feels like nothing has happened yet. The main characters are teenagers but I really got more of a pre-teen vibe from the dialogue.

I’m obsessed with this!!!!!! This version of Hades and Persephone is giving Bella/Edward vibes which for me is a compliment because I’m still a sucker for them. Also a little bit of Rhys/Feyre sprinkled in there. I’m diving in right away to book two I can’t wait!

This YA slow burn was a major change of pace from what I've been reading but was a welcome one. The banter between Hades and Persephone was
