My favorite story was probably "In The Flesh". I liked the aspect of traveling to the city of the dead. I thought I would like "The Forbidden" more because they made it into the Candyman movie but I actually liked the movie more. It felt like there was no middle to the story just a beginning and ending. It felt almost rushed. The other stories were okay. There was no story that I disliked... But there was also no story that I really liked either.

This collection fully brought me back to reading after a four year slump. Very queer in a 1980s kind of way. Contains "the forbidden" which is the short story the candyman film is based on. My favorite story in the collection is "the madonna" which involves an eldritch harem in an abandoned pool? The atmosphere on all the stories is so top tier. Loved it!
