AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 4 stars for Pretty Girls.
If you like thriller books with plenty of trigger warnings with a corrupt government then you’ll probably like this book. It’s hard to give an overview of this book without giving spoilers….but let’s try.

After Clair’s sister goes missing her family deals with the tragedy in different ways which ends up tearing the family apart. Years go by and another death in the family leads to absolutely terrifying truths that bring Claire and her remaining sister and mother back together again.

The beginning of this book was a little confusing to me, I’m not sure if it’s just because it was audio or what but seemed to be jumping around. After about halfway through you realize why the jumping around was kind of necessary. This is definitely worth the read if you like graphic disturbing thrillers. I gasped several times and near the end you kept being hit with yet another terrifying truth. I’d recommend this book.

If you like well written crime/thriller books, this one is for you. I know this book scored lower due to the graphic nature of the book, however, I believe the author did a great job touching on the disturbing parts of the story without taking it too far. A lot of times, the graphic nature is put into a story for shock value, but felt in this case it was done really well for the sake of the story. This book gave me all the feels as I have a sister of my own, and couldn’t help but feel super empathetic for both Claire and Lydia throughout the book. This story progressed so seamlessly and I truly couldn’t stop turning the pages to find out what happens next. I was routing for the sisters and hoping the family could finally find some peace after endless tragedies struck their family. I know this was a 5 star book for me because of how engaged I was throughout and how long this story will stay with me since reading the last page.

This was too much for me. It's incredibly gruesome and too many twists feel forced to the point where it feels ridiculous at times.

Well written, however this book is so dark and graphic I know it will not leave my head for quite some time.
Read at your own risk - rape, torture, violence, kidnapping, and murder of young women.
