I forgot that I had this in my Audible library, so I broke up my hefty reading with this collection of children's poems. It's charming and the narrator made it fun to listen to. A few of the poems confused me and didn't quite make sense, but overall, it's a cute collection :)

Okay... the disturbing factor is still here and maybe even made fun... because it rhymes

kinda disappointed in this as it’s marketed as winnie the pooh but the poems in this have nothing to do with any of the characters at all. some of the poems are quite cute but that’s it. looks good on the shelf next to the other three books of this edition though

I picked this up from my mum's bookshelf when I was back home. I must have read it a few times in my youth - there's one in particular that affected me a lot, which is the one about not stepping on the cracks, for fear of being eaten by the bears. Having read that, I immediately stopped stepping on the cracks on my way to school, and while I don't mind stepping on cracks now, I still have a couple of residual compulsions that stem from that time...

The rest I don't remember in particular, but there's one poem that's supposed to be the introduction of Winnie the Pooh before he took on that name, and there's a bunch that are just... magical.

I'm not a big poetry reader, anyway. I think this is the first poetry book in, like, ever, that I've read. How funny~

Again, gorgeous illustrations. But still not feeling the poetry...or whatever you call it. A child would enjoy it, but I had more of a meh reaction to it.

I thought this was a really cute collection of poems, I don't ever know how to read or what to take from poetry but I enjoyed reading this. It was cute and fun to read.

This is a delightful set of poems by A.A. Milne.

Some of these poems refer to Christopher Robin and Pooh, but most do not. They are whimsical in nature.

I've always enjoyed A.A. Milne, but as an adult, I'm always surprised that his work even got published. He writes the kinds of poems that I think my teachers would have described as trite or sophomoric. The poems almost always rhyme, and usually feel more like nursery rhymes than literary accomplishments, which, in my opinion, makes them a whole lot more fun to read than serious poetry, which is always just weird to me.

I thought this was a lovely collection of poems explicitly for children and by this, I mean that it was very obvious that each one, composed by Milne, was done for his son Christopher Robin. I think this brings a very personal and warm feeling to the collection some of which are about the monarchy, others about childhood (independence and disobedience) and others are a little nonsensical. As with any collection of poems, there are those that I prefer over others. I enjoyed: Brownie, Nursery Chairs (lovely use of imagination), Daffodowndilly and Rice Pudding. Each poem is illustrated so wonderfully by Shepard and the appearance of Pooh at the end was a welcome plus!

This was very cute, and I enjoyed my experience reading it as an adult, even though I never read it as a kid. It would be fun to read it to/with a kid someday.
