CW ... Suicide.

This is a good read and deals really well with the mental health of teens and the affects of suicide on their families.

Written with such realism and empathy Konigsberg deals with the tough topic of suicide fantastically. We get different versions of the same story ... our 2 main characters dealing with their own crap meet on a bridge with the intention of ending their lives. In each scenario one, both or neither of them jump giving us a different take on the same story.

This is a must read, one of my favourites this year and suitable for about 14+ age. Available in Irish libraries.

despite knowing about the difficult subject of the book, i wasn’t prepared to be at the mind of a depressed teenager. the book was too difficult to get through :( also, too many povs made it confusing to follow

Well-written and touching. I enjoyed it very much. Spoilers for “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson.

At first I was unsure about the style of writing but it ended up complimenting the characters quite well. After finish the first part I had to take a break for a while because I got so emotionally invested in one of the many stories/outcomes of this book. Withouth getting into the worst of the graphic details of the subject matter the author still manages to bring out all the associated emotions. Enjoyed the cast of characters and I feel it has re-read value as well.
