Mejoró bastante la narrativa con respecto al primer libro, algunas historias son literalmente culebrones, pero en términos generales el libro está bien y lo disfruté.

"You must be insane, Dandelion," the Witcher said, leaning over in the saddle. "You must be insane with fear, if you could think I'd leave you."

I loved this book. The characters are some of the best. They are deep, and I especially enjoyed the relationships between them. Everyone says that Witchers are emotionless, which is why it makes it so much better to see the way Geralt cares for his friends, especially Dandelion, Yennefer, and Ciri. Every time any of these characters interacted, it tugged on my emotions, and a book that can make me feel this way deserves 5 stars. Dandelion was humourous as always, but even more-so than usual--he was a delight to read. And the interactions between Geralt and Ciri were very emotional. Especially the very last page, when Geralt and Ciri found each other actually made my eyes well. It was fantastic!

"The Witcher bounding softly, the girl trotting, the Witcher on his knees, the girl's thin hands around his neck, the mousy hair on his shoulders.

'...We'll be together now, won't we? Now we'll be together, won't we? Say it, Geralt! Forever! Say it!'

'Forever, Ciri.'"

Even the side characters deserve praise. Dudu the doppler and Vespula (both of whom I know from the games). It was nice to get to know them better. Fantastic book! I love the Witcher!

I watched the TV show before reading this book, and now I'm reading the rest of the books so that I don't have to wait for the TV show to come out. Love following Geralt on his adventures, and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Some of the short stories were unnecessarily long. My favorites were the stories that included Yennefer and/or Ciri.

SpoilerI get that the short stories/prequels are meant to give you some backstory on Geralt before he ultimately gives into destiny and "takes" Ciri into his position but some of them are just boring
I know Dandelion is meant for comedic relief but I find him annoying. After finishing this book I would only recommend the first two and last two of the short stories in the compilation.
SpoilerI might come back a re-edit this because part of me feels that The Eternal Flame doppler situation might come into play later in the series...
