Debut author Jaylee Feild delivers a sweet and kinky MM novella. I’m highkey annoyed we didn’t get more interactions with Wendell and Emerald or at least just Wendell he’s so freaking lovable. I think the one thing that was missing was an explanation of why Wendell went about the situation the way he did. I legit want to know if Emerald would have considered the proposition under other circumstances. I think their conversation at the end would have been the perfect time for it and it would have solidifying the emotional exchange. Giving it more depth. This was hot and a touch dark. I love the young buck being the Dom in the dynamic but it was the switch energy that makes this a treat.

If nothing else I went into this book feeling wrapped in a blanket safe. Trigger warnings right off the bat and well detailed enough that I could safely enter the pages of this story. 

The chemistry between Wendell and Emerald was so heated and steamy and everything I need in an age gap story. It was surprisingly wholesome. And spicy. 

The longing Wendell has for Emerald is sweet in a way. He was in it for the long haul coming up with such a crazy plan to get this man in a contract for a night. 

This felt authentic to the author and their voice came through easily as the story unfolded. 

I think what knocked this down a star for me was simply it being too short. I appreciate it for what it is but I think the aspect of a former MC president turned Mayor was really intriguing and Wendell being a tech guy just set up a lot of story points that I'd love to see explored in the future.

This was such a good debut. I loved every second of this short smutty novella.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I know that this book is less than 100 pages, but it did not had to go this hard.  This book is SPICYYYYYYY! This book comes out swinging with imagery and setting the mood to how Emerald is.  However, Wendell is that dude, been that dude, will always be that dude. 

You blackmail that man and got a whole submissive holiday boo! Do they sell that on Amazon? Can we get that on Prime?

I love the spice but I really love the lovely moments when they checked on each other and reassured, I melted.  I love forward to the next story, and congrats on this debut novella from the author.

SHORT SWEET SIMPLE! Well not so mush as sweet, but SPICY! I genuinely enjoyed the story, love spooky season. I also like that even though it’s a novella, there was enough context for me to grasp the characters’ personality

Hunted is an erotic novella that is such a TREAT to read!
Listen we all know why we're here, it's for some good good smut. And my oh my did Jaylee Fields deliver! I love the relationship between Wendell and Emerald, it is a testament to the quality of the writing that we are able to see so much of their relationship and chemistry in such a short story. PLUS ALL THE SPICY SCENES 10000000/10!! Do NOT read this in public because your face will be tomato red, and you'll be giggling kicking your feet.
Truly over all too soon, my only complaint is I want more of them immediately! Give me a whole series because I want to know everything about their backstories, lore, and the world they inhabit.
I love the content warnings at the beginning, I believe every reader should always be able to make an informed decision before reading, without requiring an internet deep dive. I've read a lot of smutty books, and even dom/sub ones. This is the first one I've read where the more dominant in the pair is actually the younger one, and may I just say I'm HOOKED. I did also like how the author referenced and gave books for MM romance by own voices, I've never seen an author do that before. I do think no author should ever feel the need to have to "come out" or be clear about their sexuality on page in order to justify their writing.
I read a lot of books, too many some might say. (You guys I'm literally vitamin D deficient because I don't go outside enough!) It is very easy to tell when an author "has it" or not. You can tell from the very first chapter (really the first page!) if you are going to have a new favorite or not. I can easily say Jaylee Fields is now on my list of authors to watch out for, and I can't wait to read what she writes next.
Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for SMUTTY books!

Already, i was intrigued by this book because it has chapter titles and i think that is a lost art! But with the time jump, they make it easier to follow the timeline. This novella is so cute and sweet and spicy! When I read the trigger warnings I thought it was going to be a horror, it is not, it just takes place on Halloween. 
Wendell is a tech genius who sometimes uses that genius for evil, lol. Everett is the Mayor who Wendell has had a massive crush on for years. Even with the story being less than 100 pages, it came together so beautifully, it gave me the warm and fuzzies, and I cannot wait for the next one.
