inspector montalbano gets most of his hunches from an olive tree in this one
the plots of these are getting completely ludicrous (or maybe just extremely torn from the pages of sicilian public life) (perhaps those two things seem like the same to a gringo). this one involves illegal organ harvesting, sex tapes, surly retirees, montalbano intefering in mimi's romantic life, mafiosos with bad kidneys, more lurid/agitated descriptions of a middle aged man eating

Un libro come sempre ben scritto e pieno di dettagli ironici e simpatici. La trama in sé non è sorprendente rispetto ad altri capitoli della serie, è infatti piuttosto semplice intravedere come procederà il romanzo fin dai primi capitoli.

I listened to this book on Hoopla, on loan from my library. I now have to read(listen) to all of the Detective Montalbano books that haven't aired on PBS. I love Camilleri's language!

Superb, I'm finding these books even better than I remembered. I vaguely recalled the plot of this but reading it again it was great. Possibly one of my favourite in the series. Bumped the rating up from 4* to 5*.

A Montalbano story transports you to Sicily, the sea and seafood. Always good plots and Montalbano and his team are wonderful characters.
