The narrative and characters were well done and interesting, it was hard to put the book down as the end of chapters left me wanting more. 

My only problem was that the descriptions of things and places were often over worded and felt unnecessary as well as frequently having the same descriptor words right after each other. 

Overall is was filled with adventure, mystery and some romance which I enjoyed greatly !

Super long exposition that takes up half the book. While Clare is great at descriptions of clothes and scenery, she can be a bit wordy in this novel.
