Shaky few books in this series, and Montalbano is back to form here.

I genuinely cried at the end of this book and I loved both the mistery and the personal story intertwined in it... I adore François' character and meaning in Salvo and Livia's lives and it was so damn painful. I never watched this instalment adapted and I don't know if there's an episode of this storyline but, thinking that I've seen them all, I was caught so off guard but this amazing ending.
And, to be honest, the relationship crisis that Salvo has in this book is so relatable and I wished something (never so tragic, thou) had happened to bring the two of us closer again...
Absolutly 5/5☆

A good one, except for. Montalbano falling in love with every woman but poor Livia.

So as I sit here crying at the end of this story. I have followed each book to this one. If you know the love between Salvo and Livia, this book will hurt. I almost thought that this one wasn't up to Camilleri's usual excellence, till the end. I must detest this one before moving on. Read this series my friend

Typical Montalbano - I think I could probably write these myself at this point. #books #bookreview

A lot of this made me laugh, a bunch of it made me cringe. But I was intrigued and though challenging to read, the dialogue skills are incredible.
I think I would want more of a conclusion to everything also maybe a bit more surprise in the unraveling of the mystery, it was kinda just stated upfront and then people confessed.
I wasn't overly attached to any of the characters but it was an easy, fast paced read.
