This memoir told a decent story about the struggles Dressner has faced in her life. It was well written. The only thing I didn’t particularly care for, and I’m not a prude, was all the graphic language about sex. I’m sure she did that to help with the intensity of the story. I also felt like there wasn’t much closure to end the story. It just ended very abruptly.

Dresner's breezy style almost belies the heartbreak that's at the core of this narrative, but it's written with enough honesty to get that across.

The book's timeline moves back and forth, interweaving her addiction, sobriety, and mystifying relapse (mysterious to people who have never had the need to get sober anyway). The skillful style means you're never lost or wondering where you are, even if at times it's clear the narrator was. But then, it's hard not to lose track of where you are in a blackout.

This is not a how-to. It's not even moralistic (whew!). It simply makes the gritty truth of addiction real, yet utterly readable.

I am giving this book 5 stars bc the author is a fucking mess and she's kind of a terrible person but the book is the best train wreck ever 5/5 anyway I hope she's doing well on her personal journey

While I liked how comedic and raw Amy’s memoir was, I didn’t love it like I thought I would. But I did really enjoy it, more so as it went on. Bradley & Amy’s relationship was easily my favourite part.
