❣️Does anyone else read holiday books all year round?

I love a good holiday read any time of the year

I loved Becca and Denny's story. There was a perfect mixture of new characters and glimpses of original favorites. There was no overblown drama or annoying rehashed plots.

The last two of three reads have been fantastic and reminded me of why I adore this series.

The premise of her reasoning was flawed but once we got past it it was good.

It really floors me sometimes how selfishly some of these heroines are written. And the guys just go with it. Becca is so self involved when she and Denny broke up the first time, and she almost has this revelation early on in the book, but then she falls right back into the same pattern after they make up. In fact, even when she does finally come around, it's still all about her, and it's just a coincidence that Denny gets to keep his awesome job as a partner in a very lucrative business, not to mention what Jack gives him. Never does Denny's livelihood matter to her, and he's completely willing to give up all of it to be unemployed with no prospects in a town he previously left because he felt completely adrift. Total opposite of what Jillian does for Colin two books ago. And it's not even like she has anything more than Denny has to look forward to in San Diego, it's only her own inertia and fear that causes her to expect Denny to give up everything for her, once again, just as she expected when his mother had just died and he went off to war.

Hallmark movie in a book. Nice, light read for Christmas time but pretty predictable
