I'm really glad this tree-speaking business has been explored further.

Of course, I ended up reading the last book first rather than the first book. The main character, Rin reminded me of Rebecca Weis from Dark Destiny by M.J. Putney. They were both insecure about their powers and they have similar powers. I really like the other characters as well and how she got along with each of them. This definitely remind of the magelings in M.J. Putneys Dark Mirror trilogy.I look forward to reading the other books now because the other characters seem very interesting. I always loved Shannon Hale's books and I know I'll love the rest of The Book of Bayern series. :)

I liked this book. I don't think it is nearly as good as her other books but it was still enjoyable.
