I literally don’t even know what to write this book is odd but I did quite like it, however idk who it was but I’m pretty sure heart would’ve made more sense than ‘breast’ Dazai, or the translator, Keene💀

As is always the case with Dazai, this book is just many pages depicting the misery of the human condition.

Our main character experiences familial grief throughout the book, with subtle metaphors provided to elevate that level of devastation we feel towards his plight.

It is a bit too much at times, honestly. Personally, I preferred No Longer Human, but this book is pretty similarly well-written.
