"Oh what a tangled web...... but who are the ones trapped in its sticky strands and who is the spider waiting to pounce on it's captured prey?"

Kesh, Kellee, Talen, Sota, Hulia, Arran, Sirius and Eledan return in this penultimate adventure of the Messenger Chronicles. Kesh, Arron and Sirius are on Faerie, playing a game of truth, dare or lie with both Oberon, King of all Faerie, and Eledan, the Prince of Dreams. Heartbreaking promises are made, truths are twisted and hearts are made and broken.

Kesh continues her battle to free all those oppressed by Oberon and the Fae, but without Talen, Kellee and Sota, will she have the strength to resist the temptation Faerie will weave? This is fast paced, action packed, full of intrigue, lies, plots, plans, highs and some shocking lows. Oh Ms Dacosta you are a cruel author who loves to toy with your readers emotions. Not only did she do that but she eviscerated them too.

The world building is phenomenal, the planning and plotting of both the characters AND the author will leave you spellbound. I wish I could say this was a one sit reading, but with its length of well over 6 hours, and the demands of life, I couldn't manage it in one go. That said, it most certainly held me hostage, living in my mind in between those times where I could immerse myself in this magnificent creation.

I loved getting more of Kellee's point of view, as well as seeing that the old adage of absence and the heart was true. Though there is yet more skulduggery by Ms D when she cruelly snatches away that which he has so recently only grasped ahold of.

Added into the mix we have some very lustful and steamy scenes that totally added to the emotional impact of this tale. By the end of this I was left feeling as though the Wild Hunt had ridden roughshod over me. I'm almost scared to read the culmination of this tale, not to mention sad that the story will be coming to a hopefully (though you never know with an author who obviously has a very devious and mean streak) happy and blissful conclusion.

But as Kesh has, to her great sorrow, learnt, nothing comes that easily.

Gah, this series is not shy about putting a readers heart through the wringer! This one sees our feisty hero and her harem of dangerous men scrambling to find a piece of Faerie's deadliest weapon. This time, it's told from two different perspectives: Kesh and Kellee's. Old characters are brought back and new monsters are unleashed, and the ending will leave readers clamouring for more.

The characters are even more complex than before. They often went back and forth between different aspects of their character and who they wanted to be, but I found it to be a compelling dynamic. I missed some of Talen, since this story was primarily focused on Kesh and her relationships between Kellee, Eledan, and Sirius, of all people, but I really enjoyed the Marshal's perspective, and Sirius' end arc.

The story was steamier and filled with a lot of action and heartache. The pace was well clipped and the dialogue and text was written beautifully. I'm sad to know there will only be one more in this series but at the same time I'm glad: My heart can't take any more of Pippa DaCosta's delicious brand of pain!

No disappointment here

I love, love, love this series! I've been hooked since book 1 and can't get enough of Kesh, Kellee, Talen & Sota. Prince of Dreams does not disappoint. Like all the other books in the series, every time you think you have it all figured a new wrench is thrown in and you realize you don't really know it all. The character development in this book is also fun to see. We get to really know Kellee and of course see Kesh continue to grow while still making mistakes and learning from them. I wish we'd seen more of Talen or at least heard from him, however. I also really enjoyed the development of the relationship between Kesh and her guardian - great new addition. In short I'm addicted to these characters and this series and I will wait on oins and needles for the next book.

Okay maybe I'm just reading them all too close together but a) I feel like Kellee has had a personality transplant and b) all I long for is like five minutes where everyone is on the same page and happy

Eledan is still my endgame choice - talen is second. Please don’t introduce more love interests in the next one.

🤔 hmmm

Ok for those who haven’t read the first three books you have to go to book 1 The Messenger. I tried my best to savor this book. 😋I must say that I really was rooting for Eladen in this book. Why root for an evil villain who you are not sure what their true intentions are? I ask myself the same question every time I read one of Pippa’s books. That is what she makes you do. Root for the most vile character in the book to then crush your soul! This book didn’t have my emotions all over as the last. I really enjoyed the pace and glad that the vakaru Marshall was able to express himself to kesh. I am not going to lie that kesh can get on my nerves but I understand why she does what she does.

Dual POV between the Marshal and the Messenger? Heck, yes!

This format worked especially well since their group got separated, and their reunion was both blissful and heart-wrenching. I'm so happy to see more of Sirius and finally, Eledan got his spotlight. Kinda, for a bit. And her drone! Sota never fails to make me laugh and his upgrade really is amazing.

I'm so looking forward to their last fight. I can't wait to read book 5!

I cannot stop reading this series.
This book was so. good. Plot wise, character wise, dialogue wise... everything was awesome. The squad to save the world keeps getting bigger and better. Each character is so unique with their powers and personalities.
My favorite "character I love to hate," the Dreamweaver, comes back in a big way in this book, and he is deliciously nasty. At the same time, there is still something beneath the surface that makes you wonder about his intentions. The fact that he can permeate and control dreams is a super cool power, and you get to see all the twisted things he does.
I didn't realize that there would be multiple love interests when I went into the series, and while not usually my cup of tea, it actually plays out naturally and makes sense in-universe. It's not cringey thank god.
