Why? Because I didn't expect it to be so YA! It's listed as YA and it's well written as a YA book. I'm just so used to her adult work that this one threw me off. It felt whiny and immature compared to her other work. Honestly, I find the heroine obnoxious as hell and I don't like that she didn't have much of a character arc, HOWEVER I am 100% invested in the plot and I -need- to know what happens next. I'm super curious what's going to happen regarding Aiden and Seth too. There are so many ways I can imagine this going and I'm dying to know what Armentrout's incredible imagination came up with.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Torture, Violence, Xenophobia, Kidnapping, Grief, Death of parent, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
