Well, my biggest problem was with the writing style. I do not like how the author writes. But it is an easy read, and it lived up to what I had heard about it. Not sure if I will read the rest of the trilogy.

I liked this book. You have to get past the very beginning, then you will be sucked in. 3 stars because it was poorly written. It could have been so much better. The sex scenes were pretty hot!

I definitely jumped on the 50 Shades bandwagon...I absolutely love the series. It's always fun to find a book that makes you blush if you read it in public.

I understand it's entertainment purposes, but this is pretty awful. James could have been a bit more subtle about her work's relation to Twilight.
Spoiler Jose is the parallel of Jacob who is just Bell.... I mean Ana/Anastasia/ Miss Steele/ Submissive's 'friendzoned' puppy- great slide in of the minority by changing the Native American character into a Hispanic named Jose Rodriguez. Originality at its finest. Christian Grey is to f'ed up for words.
Spoiler I was intrigued by the business and "situation" that took him away from Savannah, but James doesn't elaborate. I didn't sign a contract to be your sub, James. Also, Steele said Grey made her into a "quivering bag of raging female hormones." I thought we left that in the 1950's. Also, the attempt at "foreshadowing" with Ana saying
Spoiler Kate was domineering but Ana did as she was told was laughable. And then the sex scenes- or 75% of the fan fiction. I wasn't sure the intensity of the
Spoiler orgasm for every one had the same adjectives. In conclusion- the writing is awful, this story has literally already been written, and it's erotica. Can you expect much from it? In light of the movie and the newly released trailer, it may be a guilty trip to the theater because I miss Sheriff Graham. (Once Upon A Time Reference)

not as x-rated as media made it out to be. i thoroughly enjoyed the story and am hoping Ana can prevail.

I haven't even finished and it is horrible! I read till page 70 and kept hoping it would get better but it didn't. I was hoping Ana would finally stand up to Christian, but from the other reviews I read that doesn't seem to happen. This is one I may not finish.

Ladies, I wouldn't recommend reading this in public. I've caught myself with a blush creeping up my neck and face and erupting with a case of the vapors a time or two or twenty. ;)

I wish I could give this less than a 1, that's how terrible it was!

It was good but frankly, not THAT good! I don't think it deserves the whole buzz that's going around it at the moment! Did I enjoy it? yes but it is also not that well writen and I expected more of the bdsm than what there was in it seeing as it's what people are talking about! Frankly, V and Jane's scenes in the black dagger brotherhood did it wayyyyy more for me.

Also, I thought it was pretty repetitive on some aspects and I really don't get the whole "my inner goddess" thing! I thought it was really really annoying. BUT the whole storyline was good if a little classic and I thought Christian was too quick to change his ways for Ana.

I did read the three books but I'm not sure I would recommend it.

Finally, I thought the similarities with Twilight were too much. I know thos started as a fanfic but I feel she should have changed more than names for her book.
