I enjoy the behind the scenes perspective of this unique dating show story. Allie seems like a fun character, up for anything who loves her sister enough to participate in a dating show for her. I’ve only read one other book with this plot device and I enjoyed it, and this, immensely.
Hudson is a firefighter. Need I say more? He’s got the bod, the heroism, and the tender heart. I love that the fires that decimated my home country were mentions, we appreciate the US firefighters who came to lend a hand. And I know our charity firefighter calendar is one I’ve shared in many a reading group. Because…firefighters and cute animals.
As luck would have it, he ends up paired with our feisty heroine. She knows him. He doesn’t remember her at first.
They are sent on dates together where their history is laid bare and Hudson realizes who Allie is. Their chemistry is fun and flirty and genuine before the physical attraction is clear.
As it is with short stories, their relationship moves quickly and before you know it, you’re at the end. I wish this had been a bit longer. I would have liked to see a little more interaction with the one friendly contestant Allie met, perhaps some conflict with other couples but that makes for a much longer book and I think it would lose some of the punch. I can’t wait for the next installment of The Dating Series.

A Date for the Hunt is the third in the Dating Series by LP Dover and Heidi McLaughlin that I have read and continued in the tradition; it is a sweet romp into romance land. Each in the series centers around a holiday, and this book focused loosely on Easter.

Allie and Hudson know each other from high school. What Allie perceived as bullying Hudson knew were his clumsy attempts to get to know her. He was popular, so the assumption was he was picking on her. Allie has a bit of grudge, and Hudson wants to change that. Dover and McLaughlin have once again proven you can write a hugely sweet love story and put it in a small package. Each time I read one in the Dating Series, I wonder if it's going to keep holding true--and yes it does.

You can read this series quickly (novellas) and catch up on the holidays. I'm curious about what the next holiday holds. I look forward to it.

2nd Chance romance novella. Want actually expecting that. Usually 2nd Chance stories are a bit boring to me, but this short story was sweet. I liked that they got their HEA. I would have liked a little more story after the show and they were back home... But the novella was about the hunt, so it worked ok.

This was such a fun read from a fun series. It can be read as a standalone, but once you read it, you'll want to grab the rest of the series. Allison and Hudson are so great to watch.

If you're looking for a feel good read, this is it!

I am loving this little series so much. Hudson was definitely not what I was expecting, knowing him and Allie had a past, I thought for sure the hunt wasn't going to work for them. When he finally explains what really happens, it all makes sense. I know I am a clumsy one when I am nervous around people as well. Watch Allie and Hudson thrown together on a reality TV show and how it all works out in the end. Loved it!
