audiobook was difficult to follow with two POVs, and the narrator did not make the conversations feel natural when they are supposed to be interviews. will try again as a regular book

I think the way this is translated is wonderful, at the same time it is very different and so it took me a little while to understand that this book is written in 2 povs of 2 different characters. The storytelling itself is very good and puts so much magic into the women's stories.

I struggled a little bit with the writing structure of this one. The chapters are all written in first person and alternate between the two women. I found this confusing at first because the similarities in the two women's lives meant that I really had to pay attention to identify the narrator. But I'm convinced that this is a story that gets lost in translation since there were so many gold nuggets and beautiful writing within the disjointed storyline.

A novel based on some real people, a fascinating look into a different culture than my own

With unique prose and interesting characters, Witches weaves together multiple stories that will keep you spellbound. A story about women and the relationships we have with those around us- but especially other women (mothers, sisters, selves), A reminder that our intuition makes us all a little bit of a witch.
