Be still my heart! Hang the Moon was everything I could have asked for and more in a follow-up to Written in the Stars!!! Usually, the second book in a series is nowhere near as good as the first, however Hang the Moon delivered all the swoon-worthy moments and heart-eye emojies I was hoping for.

I fell in love with Brendon's character in Written in the Stars. After all, who doesn't love a cinnamon-roll nerd who is obsessed with rom-coms and all things love?!? His character only got better in Hang the Moon. Readers should be prepared to fall head-over-heels for this man.

Annie's character was a great addition to the cast and she fell in seamlessly with the clique of Darcy, Elle, Brendon, and Margot. Seriously, these five all have amazing chemistry and make you want to be a part of their friend group.

Honestly, I loved this book and I will not stop recommending Alexandria Bellefleur's work to anyone who asks for fun and heartwarming rom-coms.

I love the authors writing style, and enjoyed the previous title in the series, Written In the Stars.

My complaints with this book is I cannot stand Brendon. Too corny and unrealistic of a character to root for. Many of the actions he, and Darcy take, feel manipulative to our protagonist Annie. Keeping this spoiler free, but this was almost too romantic comedy tropy for me.

Childhood crush to lovers, guy falls first, best friends brother, sweet and spicy romance.
Love both Annie and Brenden from the get go. I really enjoyed the perspective on dating in todays age and feel like it relates to how a lot of people feel about dating now. Also enjoy the perspective of Annie and her best friend loosing touch being apart for so long. Love them reconnecting.
The ending is perfection!

DNF @ 30% cannot do basic white people complaining with an abundance of 80s/90s/00s pop culture references for another 70% to finish this book....UGH

AND YES, I will be rating this book!! RTC

Oh my goodness this one was a million times better than the first book! Brendan is a cinnamon roll with a surprisingly filthy mouth! I’ve also never related to a character more than I relate to Annie! This book had me laughing, smiling, blushing, everything! I also really enjoyed getting to see Darcy and Annie’s friendship dynamic. It reminded me of a lot of my friends. I just loved every second of this book. Starting the next one now!

For lovers of classic rom-com movies.

Trope: Sibling's Best Friend

Bellefleur writes chemistry so well and these two are sparking. They fall fast, but I wouldn't classify it as insta-love. There is definitely an amount of realism paired with some very romantic wooing.

Brendan is such a sweet hero without an ounce of toxic masculinity. He knows what he wants, is respectful, and communicates his feelings. (A unicorn even here in Romancelandia.) It's not often we see a male character so determined to find his true love. In this case Annie was the one holding back from the relationship and had to overcome her past and her choices to be with Brendan.

Annie is a bisexual heroine and just like the first book in the series, Written in the Stars, there is no homophobia from any of the characters. She's just living her life as queer woman without censure. I love to see it!

There are a ton of references to classic rom-coms so if you're a Meg Ryan or Julia Robert's fan this will be right up your alley.

I really enjoyed this book
