I listened to this book on audible. If there’s ever a book that I’d is perfect for listening than reading, it’s The Night Swim! The story is a fast paced thriller about a podcaster and true crime journalist who uncovers the mystery of a rape and murder that happened twenty five years ago while attending the trials for an eerily similar rape case in the current day. The depiction of the rapes and the emotional struggle associated with it was handled in a sensitive yet piercing manner by the author. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good thriller that’s also a quick read handing social issues. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.

This was very similar to other courtroom dramas centered around an alleged rape in terms of the circumstances around the rape and the characters. I thought the dual POV with Hannah/Jenny's stories were really well incorporated and how they ended up being connected was realistic. I was very engaged in the story and had a hard time putting it down once I got started. Definitely not an easy read, but well-done and highly recommend.

Megan Goldin gained an immediate fan after I read The Escape Room and she has once again blown me away with The Night Swim.
Rachel Krall is a true-crime podcast host who's newest story is following a controversial rape in small-town Neapolis. Once she arrives, she starts receiving odd messages from the sister of another victim from a much older case from the area, begging for Rachel's help to track down the real story behind her sister's death. Drawn in by the mysterious details of the case, and eventually the similarities between the two local stories, Rachel can't help but search for answers.
This story sucked me in from page one. I had a rollercoaster of emotions as I followed these two tragedies and I was heartbroken imaging any woman experiencing this. Emotional and thought-provoking, I could not put it down until I knew the truth. Amazing story and I'll be back for more!

i loved this. it was amazing. the conversations and discussions about things like rape culture and victim blaming were so important. i thought they were handled with great care. i loved the characters too (if there was a sequel, i’d pick it up so fast), and the mystery kept me intrigued the whole time. and as a true crime podcast addict, i loved that element too.

This thriller was fascinating! I loved the alternating chapters being told from a podcast perspective and a first person narrative. The writing and events were intriguing. I definitely enjoyed this one.
