I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down.

Rachael is 16 years old and has come to Whitehaven to visit her father. George is Rachael's dad and he believes that his body is being possessed by a Demonic Spirit. He ends up dying Rachael's first night there. That's when she learns that everything her dad said was true.

Lock is a Banished Spirit using George for a Host. When George dies it leaves him without a human body to hide from the Hunters in. That is until Rachael enters then he attaches to her. At first it was all about protection from the Hunters but then he begins to realize he has an ally.

Lock has a hard time trusting anyone. He doesn't really believe that anyone truly cares for him. Once he realizes that Rachael wants to help him he does something that leaves him more vulnerable than he's ever been before.

We get introduced to the Sin World in this book. This is where the Seven Sins reside. Each Sin seems to have their own world. Unlike other books I've read the Sins can be anything. They don't have to be human and aren't always what they appear to be. We also meet the Hunters and Goons. I must say the Goons can be scary.

Lock and Rachael face Hunters, Goons, and the Sin World many times over while searching for a way to get Lock into the Third Realm. Their journey is faced with many perils and danger. The journey brings them closer together causing Rachael to realize that she's falling in love with Lock. Lock cares for Rachael and says he does but how exactly is what Rachael wonders.

This book had it all. Action, young love, suspense, and tears. I loved the Sin Worlds and the detail that she put into describing them. I felt like I was actually there with them. UCK!!!! But in a good way my friends.

Thank you Jacinta Maree for such an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more of your books. I recommend this book to all my fellow readers and anyone that is looking for a good book unlike anything you've ever read before.

Although this is a series you do not have to read the first book to understand the second. Surprisingly, although they are related, they are completely different. The second book answers some questions from the first. I'm curious how these would work out of order because in book one, My Demonic Ghost, I had so many questions that I may have enjoyed it even more having these answers right at the gate.

The really interesting thing here is that this story is told from a completely different perspective and it is one that I really resonated with. The downside to this storyline is how Jordon. I felt like his transition could have been a lot smoother and some conflict could have been avoided and Jordon is another character, much like Lock in My Demonic Ghost, that I had some troubles with. I feel like he has some issues (being a reaper is sort of an issue!) but he is really dramatic with his issues. Maybe I'm weird but I think I would love to have my own Goon (heck I have four, they just don't eat souls) so every time he was freaked about something I just couldn't fully engage with him. But in Jordan's defense he is dealing with quite a lot and Raix just makes his life crazy. And funnily enough Raix listens just like my pups do too!

As the story moves along I really started getting into it and enjoying the fully supernatural aspect. Jacinta Maree just has this way of writing that I really can sit back and enjoy. I really liked having some of the characters back and there are a ton of new characters in this too, although Raix is still my fav, I just cannot help myself!

I'm finding that Jacinta Maree has an imagination like no other. Her stories are fabulous with characters that I can really sink my teeth into. Although these are a bit on the creepy side, I can see these books entertaining a myriad of people. They're just that much fun.

The second installment in Jacinta Maree's My Demonic Ghost series, The Reapers is just as captivating as book one. The Reapers is set before and during Banished Spirits, and in this book, we follow Jordon and his journey as a Reaper. In this book we get a bigger view of the incredible world Maree has created. I was quite sad when I found out who Jordon was and how he related to Lock. Jordon finds it difficult to assimilate to his new life and drifts through his previous life. His demon wolf, Raix, doesn't help matters. They are bonded and are supposed to carry souls to what is classed as hell. Raix isn't fond of his new master and defies Jordon every chance he gets.

The Reapers immerses you in suspense and being able to see a wider view of the different realms Maree has created keeps you glued to the pages. Some characters from Banished Spirits make and appearance, and you get to see how their stories and worlds intersect. Lock started something big and now Jordon has created his own rebellion. There are a lot of twists and turns, and everything flows together very well. I loved reading how Jordon finally realises he can help so many other souls, banished and reaper alike. It gets very interesting when he accepts who he now is. Maree has an amazing ability to draw you into her world and make you feel for her characters. I am looking forward to the final installment in the My Demonic Ghost series, Hunters.
