I loved Fury's story. I wasn't too thrilled that Fury only got a small chunk for his story, but having Sasha (Astrid's wolf), Zarek, and Aimee in it made up for that. Oh, and Bride and Vane *drool*. Also, the fact that Fury spent a good amount of time naked because of his uncoordinatedness with magic. I'd pay to see that ;)

I liked The Story of Son though it was a bit *odd* to say the least. The others weren't too bad, though the last makes me wonder how it was supposedly a vampire story o.O No blood-sucking at all.

I really liked this book a lot. There are four really fantastic novellas crammed into 300 odd pages and at least two storied didn't fit into the concept.
I also don't get the title of it at all: "Dead after Dark" - great title in itself, but really not fitting the book. I mean there was no one dead after dark, the heroines of the four stories where either dead (or sleepy) during the day and mostly night active, or they didn't have any relation to the "dark" at all. That kinda stumped me. Other than that, I really loved the storied in their own right.

"Shadow of the Moon" by Sherrilyn Kenyon was a fast paced story with a lot of action and wit, but I was totally lost with the universe she created. As I haven't read any of her other book she placed in that universe, it was a lot of information crammed into too short a story to completely understand the full extent of her creative mind. Some parts I had to read twice to make the connection with all the aristo and animal stuff going on.

"The Story of Son" by J.R. Ward was actually really cute. The idea of an imprisoned vampire that is shy to the bone and would never hurt a fly, being cooped up with the witty, sensual and tomboyish heroine was funny to read. I actually enjoyed this story the most and since have re-read the story twice as I really loved it.

Susan Squired enchants us with her novella "Beyond the Night". A man out on revenge coming to learn that there are more important things than revenge itself. I loved how the author made this a standalone story that fully captured my heart. Freya is one sensual woman.

Dianna Love completes this compendium with her "Midnight Kiss Goodbye" story. I actually had a hard time following this story, as again, it had a lot of information on the universe, war and gods of the world crammed into a short story that left a little to be desired. Still, in the end, the story was fast paced and really interesting to read. I'm not sure if there is actually a series going on behind those books, but I do hope there will be a story with Lucien and Rowan someday.

All in all, for an anthology, it's a really nice book. If you're okay with reading four really different stories and gloss over the fact that some are a little too crammed with information you will enjoy this book and love their characters.

"Shadow of the Moon" by Sherrilyn Kenyon - 5 stars
I wish Fury had gotten a full length novel. He is one of my favorite characters in the Dark-Hunter series, and I feel that he was robbed by getting a story that was less than 100 pages. While I loved "Shadow of the Moon", I still think that Fury and Lia deserved to get a full novel. I think they should have had more time to work out everything and/or more obstacles to work through. It's not that I want Fury to be utterly tortured, but I think it's only fair he should have a "real" story like other Were-Hunters, such as Fang, Vane, etc. While Lia ticked me off in the beginning, I'm glad that Fury finally has someone besides his two brothers (Fang and Vane), Bride, and Trace to finally love him and for him to love back.

"The Story of Son" by J. R. Ward - 5 stars
Like with the Sherrilyn Kenyon story, I wish that Michael and Claire had gotten a full length novel. I want to see more of their story and more of Michael. This story had me in tears when she asked him what his name was and he replied that his mother always called him "Son". Michael's insecurities also had me on the verge of tears because he wasn't sure how to act with Claire. Michael's possessiveness towards Claire had me smiling, though, especially when they were at Mick's and Michael realized that Mick was Claire's former lover. Yet again, Ward delivers a fantastic story that's worthy of it's 5 stars.

"Beyond the Night" by Susan Squires - 3 stars
I found this story somewhat odd. It was not odd because it was yet another vampire story; that was to be expected in an anthology of paranormal romance stories. I think it just surprised me that it was set in the 1800s because I had just gone from stories set in modern times to a story set a couple hundred years ago. Overall, it was an okay story, but it's not really enough to make me want to go read more of Susan Squires material.

"Midnight Kiss Goodbye" by Dianna Love - 4 stars
This story was adorable and I loved Trey. Sometimes it felt like things were coming out of absolutely nowhere, though, and seemed to make no sense. I was a little confused in the beginning as to what was going on because it jumped right into the action instead of easing into the story in any way; however, it was quite easy to catch on to what was happening. I think the story was good and it was enough to make me consider reading more of Dianna Love's novels.

OK had to add this in my currently reading because it has Fury's story, the brother to Vane and Fang.

had just completed Bad Moon Rising and Fury's story's time line is at the end of that book since he is not mated at the beginning, and middle but ends up mated at the end.

Since Bad Moon Rising happens for a 5 or 6 year time period? Very confusing timeline, it is hard to understand the relationship between Fury and Fang in this book. I didn't think Fang lived at Vane's at all during that period, yet he is in the house and seems to have a relationship with Fury. OK so if I can get over that... the story is good over all but the forgiveness happens way too fast. I get the attraction from before and knowing each other already but... she really screwed him over and he is going to forgive and trust that quickly. Well I guess it is a short, in an anthology, and so that usually happens still it is quick. Still in some way it works, just not well with the time line.
