This is definitely the one in the series (so far) that I’ve cringed at the most. Some of the methods 🤢

As usual, Chris Carters writing is fast paced and pretty easy to digest. If you ignore all the murder that is. For a police procedural/thriller it’s not overly bogged down in jargon but equally you feel it’s somewhat accurate. I will say though, I still don’t love how he speaks about women.

If you like thrillers, serial killers, and fast paced books then give this series a go for sure!

Chris Carter, I LOVE YOU!

I love you, because you never ever disappoint me. I love you because you’re always there with your clever, gruesome and bloody plots to entertain me. I love you because of Robert Hunter. I love you because of the severe shocks you give me when I least expect them.
When I begin reading one of your book, I know I’m going to have hours and hours of nonstop roller coaster rides. I feel safe with you.

Please don’t stop. Please carry on!

I LOVE YOU!

Utterly amazing! Read it all in just two days, I couldn't put it down! There are so many twists its like a old country road , and leaving off on the ultimate cliff hanger. "one of the most shocking crime scenes they have ever attended" is the first of many intriguing moments, you find yourself trying to puzzle it out along side the Detectives, but nothing can prepare you for the many shocks from the very first crime scene to the very last chapter. Chris Carter just keeps getting better! I can't wait to see what he has in store for us, bring on the next Robert Hunter Book!

I'm disappointed. Again. This is more an action than a thriller book. And it's definitely not a whodunit, as the first Robert Hunter books were. The seriel killer in this book is a genius, though. I think about 100 pages are unnecessary for the plot. I can only hope the next one in the series will be better.
