I finished this in a single day. I have a hard time putting a star value on a memoir. I cannot rank someone’s LIFE. Especially one like Michelle’s.

I appreciate her taking the time to share her story of Ariel Castro’s house of horrors. This woman has been through so much even before he kidnapped her. I admire her strength and her will to live and continue fighting.

This book is written in her voice, which it absolutely should be, therefore the writing isn’t very strong. But it is very readable, making it a quick day read. It is HEAVY material. It is hard to read in content. I hope she’s been able to connect with her son after this hell. Michelle has my heart.

I will forever and always give five stars to anyone who is this brave and has the courage to tell their story. It's not my job, as a reader, to judge her book. This isn't just a book. It's her life. What these women went through was pure hell. They're incredible strong for making it out. To those with a story that hasn't spoken about it, you're incredible strong and brave.

This was such a good quick read! That being said, this was certainly a heavy read! Very heavy! I remember watching the news footage the day these women were found in the house and being shocked! So to read a first hand account was very enjoyable and interesting. Even though I wouldn't classify this book as being super well written, I can still appreciate hearing the story from Michelle Knight's own words. As I said before, it was an easy read based off the fact it wasn't super well done prose.
