I enjoyed looking through the book just for the artwork! I haven't colored any of the pages yet because I enjoyed the art in black and white!

A surprisingly grim, surprisingly adult origin story that made it into a TV show primarily aimed at younger audiences.

4 stars. I'm a horrible person, I know, but I love Harley and The Joker. That's terrible to say given the circumstances of their relationship but damnit I love them. This is such a great origin story on Harley and I love how she became Harley Quinn. The artwork was a lot of fun and lively, the dialogue was perfect and this read like a short episode of an animated show. I loved the ending and how open it was. My only complaint is that the pacing was a bit rushed so it didn't feel as fleshed out as it should've been but overall, a great read for Harley Quinn fans.

This was a pretty good little 72 page book. I read it to brush up on the Harley Quinn character before the suicide squad movie comes out this year. It's a pretty fun story although nowhere near as gritty as the movie will be.

Great stories are independent from style. A complex story with mixed emotions even of it's directed for the younger crowd, that does not mean the authors simplify too much and remove the complexity of the characters.

My inner nerd really enjoyed this. I love Harley Quinn and this goes back and explains how she went from being someone with a professional job to a girl being so in love with The Joker that she was willing to give up everything to be with him.

One of my top five Batman stories, easily.

I'm a little perturbed by some of the comments here, which don't seem to find quite as much tragedy in this as I think is appropriate. I like the tone, though; it's not too heavy handed about things. Harley's very funny and all that, but in this story more than any other we get a glimpse at the tragedy of her life-- a promising young psychiatric doctor who is manipulated into obsessive love by the psychopath to end all psychopaths. It's pretty brutal and sad, but again, thankfully not played that way all the time by Dini or Timm. Beautifully drawn and written.

What a great character she is.
