Very silly! I had a great time reading this, but think I would've been better served by spacing out the 5 novels; by the end, I was a bit tired of the constant barrage of jokes, but I think had I read more serious books in between, I would've been refreshed by the comedy all over again each time.

I have loved this series many times over.
The first time was when I discovered it. Went mad after multiple falls off my chair on reading H2G2 and Restaurant, rest of them were "alright" and mostly fuelled by curiosity. Forgot about it for a few years, and then got in the mood again, and did them all over. Found myself a bit more interested in Life, So Long and Mostly Harmless.
Then ... I heard Stephen Fry reading H2G2. And then Douglas Adams. I even got the entire radio broadcast and heard them all. That epiphanic experience deserves an altogether separate review.
The books are simply marvellous. Humour and plot madness abounds, and the sheer unpredictability keeps you on your toes. Agreed that some find the last few a bit contrived, but give them a second chance, and they will worm their way into your hearts.
A bit of a blathery review, but the point is - these books are crazy and you must read them.

The first part is great. Second is okay. Third onwards painful.

The third book focused on the game of cricket was just hard to get into this time.

Had no idea this was a comedy. Hilarious in the vein of Monty Python. Didn't get five stars bc...well... Good Omens.
