Very cute friends to lovers rom-com. Barely any spice but still enjoyable.

Miscommunication always makes me scream internally but it was still an enjoyable ride. The MCs had good chemistry and their friends weren't just NPCs, they were well rounded.

length - just right, not too long, not too short

It was a tad too sad in the last chapters, but overall amazing and very relatable

This is a really cute book that centres on a group of 5 friends (4 guys and 1 woman).
Millie keeps everything in and does not talk a lot about herself, communication is a struggle for her. One night Reid and Millie hook up and they treat it as a one time thing (even though it happens 2 more times). Mille and Reid have terrible communication and spend most of the book dodging their true feelings for each other. There is a big event coming up where Obama is the key note speaker and the 5 of them decide that they should all have dates. They set up online dating profiles, but secretly Millie sets up two. On her secret profile she ends up matching with Reid and starts an online relationship with him as "Catherine" (yes, she catfishes him). Eventually Reid figures it out and it blows up in her face. This book does end in a HEA. I was really frustrated with all of the miscommunication between Reid and Millie when they knew how they felt about each other. Millie's is pretty immature/closed off through most of the book, but I do appreciate that some growth is shown.

A contemporary romance with witty banter, a charming group of guy friends, and our heroine who is emotionally stunted but super fun to be around.  Mistaken identity is my least favorite trope, but witty banter and hot bedroom scenes make it worthwhile.

There’s more angst than I usually like, but the honest communication leading to the resolution is worth waiting for. Also, fart jokes. (But just a few.)

Christina Lauren always delivers good dialogue.

This was a great quick read. I loved the friendship in the book, such a cute group of friends doing life together. Though the idea of dating & falling in love with your best friend isn’t new I enjoyed the spin of involving online dating.
The emphasis on expressing emotions (or lack of) in the book as well as the inclusion of some emotional topics made the booker ‘deeper’ than just another romance novel.
There were also some pretty steamy scenes! 🔥
