This was one of the best graphic novel adaptions I have ever read. I highly recommend this novel to any Vampire Academy fans. It is definitely better than the first one.

*4.5 Stars

Extra 0.5 stars for Adrian Ivashkov, who I didn’t really like at first (when reading the books) but after reading Bloodlines, I love. Btw if you read VA you should read Bloodlines.

My only gripe with the graphic novels was that if you haven’t read the books, and you go into it blindly, it could be a bit difficult to completely follow the story. That being said, I really like how well they explain the system at the beginning. Also the art style is pretty good and fits the ~vibe~ of VA.

Oh also a certain death caught me off guard and I had to reach into the depths of my brain to remember if they actually died.

Today I behaved like a kid at a candy store, completely happy and slightly deranged, because my copy of Frostbite arrived. Then I opened it and four pages fell off...
No. I'm not kidding. However, this is a manufacture error and has nothing to do with the awesomeness that is this comic. Three very important things I was hoping for and got. 1) Mason: with his red hair he looks absolutely gorgeous in a green shirt. The scene where he dies made me tear up all over again.
2) Adrian: who made me swoon all over the place. He looks exactly like I imagined him while reading. I wish he'd gotten more great lines though. I still got shivers when he appeared saying "little dhampir" *squee* ♥ 3) Dmitri and the promise of things to teach. Oh yes. That last two page drawing totally made my day. Mwuahaha.
Now, MOAR PLZ!

It made me happy to get more content with Mason and Rose. He’s her best friend after Lissa, so I didn’t feel like he got the attention he deserved in the first comic. Mason really cares about Rose but unfortunately she just doesn’t feel the same way for him.

I literally squealed when Adrian arrived. You must be new here if you don’t know my love for Adrian Ivashkov. I don’t like the whole Rose and Adrian ship (I’m hardcore Romitri and Sydrian shipper) but I love it every time when Adrian calls her “little dhampir”.

I liked how the artist draw the fight scene. I’m really bad at writing and seeing the fight scenes writes describe for me in my head. I just really don’t like Guardian Hathaway especially after she lost her temper.

I knew that you-know-who was going to die but it still made me cry. It made me so sad. The artist drew Rose’s feelings amazingly. It’s making me sad to even think about it.

What I enjoyed maybe the most were those hot scenes between Lissa and Christian and Rose and Dimitri. Hopefully the next one will have more of those.

I’m still not big fan of how the characters look like but this one made me feel a lot of different feels; happy, sad, confused etc. In a minute period I went from crying to being happy.

I feel like the recap in the beginning was unnecessary but I guess it would be good to the ones who read the first comic a long time ago and couldn’t remember what happened.

All in all good graphic novel. I enjoyed this more than the first one, and not only because of Adrian. I had forgotten how much I like Rose and Dimitri together.

Sadly they cut a lot out, but that was to be expected. Beautifully rendered, although at times i was left criticising the artists work. WHO HAS THEIR EYES HALF WAY UP THEIR FOREHEADS?! It was like they just didn't bother.
