I think, as someone who is usually behind the camera more than in front, this hits home in a particular way.
When I was in my twenties, a man I had met only once and filmed passed away suddenly. For awhile, the video I captured was a sort of virtual tombstone. The idea of the permanence of film and video sticks with me, alongside the idea of the ways in which it can be used to idealize someone.

I read through this in one sitting and I was questioning reality the entire time, because I didn't know what parts were in his "movie" or what parts actually were occurring in his life. But it was such an emotionally rich story about grief and asks readers to think about how they would want to be remembered.
