I'm unconvinced that Google+ is not a ghost town, which this book heavily focuses on.

Also disappointed that it doesn't mention some other social media platforms that I have no concept of and wanted to understand (Snapchat).

I thought there would be more meat to this book. Most of this information can be found with a "Simple How To Use Facebook" search. There were a couple of helpful links though, but nothing terribly exciting for Digital Marketers.

This book will be part of my monthly audit for quite awhile--Guy Kawasaki and Pef Fitzpatrick know how to talk to the person whose brain works like a Chrome browser with multiple tabs, apps, and extensions all in use at the same time!

Really enjoyed this book and got many useful tips I plan to implement. I'm not a beginner in social media, but I'm not an expert, either. My viewpoint would be different than many, as I'm an educator rather than a businessman. Nevertheless, as we work toward promoting an edCamp, there are many useful tips I can apply.

I downloaded the info from https://www.hightail.com/download/UlRUaUNLU1BwcFYzZU1UQw and added notes to it. That made the notes clickable and very usable. One of the things I liked about the book was that it wasn't so specific that it was outdated as soon as it was printed. There are definitely improvements I can make to my blog, and I understand many more things about Google+ now. I really liked the "Peg Your Post" list with specific steps explaining how to integrate many social media platforms at one time.

Now I'm off to get a better profile picture, delete some pithy quotes, and pin some more. The explanations of various purposes and audience for the different platforms was very well done, too.

Guy Kawasaki honed his craft at iconic Apple so I'd say he knows what he's talking about. This book is a collection of very concrete and easy tips if you're looking to learn how to build more meaningful social media presence. My Bookstagram is my source of joy and my happy place and I really don't have any intention of turning it into work but I still found some of his insights illuminating and educational. A huge part I love posting about books are other bookstagrammers and since I love engaging with other folks passionate about same things as me, the idea of more meaningful engagement through thoughtful content creation part is definitely appealing.

This guide is an easy, quick read with concrete pointers such as using a calendar to schedule your posts and how to utilize different platforms. The book is a few years old so doesn't cover some of the recently popular apps like Snapchat but the logic behind the content shared is easy to understand and follow for the platforms mentioned. I have since picked up some of Guy's other books, simply because I find his writing interesting. I hope there'll be an updated version of this book! In summary and in Guy's words, this book is "Great stuff, no fluff".

Grateful to NetGalley and Portfolio / Penguin Group USA for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

It's a good book that gives great tips for everyone who is new to social media marketing and social media itself. The book contains images also, so it's entertaining to read instead of pages full of text only.

As I mentioned, the book is excellent for newbies, and I don't think that it contains a massive amount of tips for people who are already in the social media "game" and established their position in there.

-"Maybe that's why they don't need to read it because they already master social media."

A great overview of how to optimize your social media presence. I will keep this handy as a reference book - it's well divided into sections which should make it easy to go back and find information, and it also has a good index. I'll also check out the online version of it for the links.

The title might be very slightly misleading - I think it really is tips to turn a decent social media user into a power user. If you already think you're a power user you might find some new info but a lot will be repeats. If you are a social media aficionado (like me) but want to make sure you are optimizing your SM presence (or are just getting into using it for business instead of personal use) this will be a great book for you.
