This story was MUCH more like the show, Castle. I liked it a lot more than the two previous books. It was also more of a thriller, in addition to the mystery. There is a dead body (more than one before the end) but, in addition, Nikki Heat is being hunted by parties unknown. And I never in a million years would have guessed who was responsible for it. Again, it was fun to see the bits and pieces of cases that were on the show in season 3, and how they were all mixed together for this story. The big difference between show and book, **little spoiler** the relationship between Nikki Heat and Jameson Rook, has developed into a nice and surprisingly mature one.

An entertaining dtective story. Completely contrived and predictable, but entertaining nonetheless for a quick read. PLus, as I've admitted before I'm attached to to the characters thanks to the linkage to one of my favorite detective shows.

I normally find these books enjoyable, but I could not get into this one at all.

Okay, the 4 stars are, again, for the type of novel this is. A crime novel based on a tv show. Whoever the writer is does a good job as Richard Castle. This book seems to be the best so far. I like the Firefly references for Fillian.

Nikki Heat #3 definitely kicks it up several notches above the first two. I don't usually read procedurals, but I'm a huge fan of the show, so I stuck with this series. The story is more complex than the previous, and I found myself quite intrigued and unable to guess the ending. The Castle references are fantastic, and I particularly liked the sly Firefly moment. I'm glad I have #4 waiting for me.
